Team Drawings
Teams are drawn on the
basis of strength of field. The names of the members
playing in the event are arranged from lowest handicap
to highest. This list is then divided into 4 groups. The
first group being the best players, this is the "A"
group. The next group would then be the next best
players, this would be the "B" group. The "C" & "D"
groups are drawn in a similar manor.
Any event where the players receive their full handicap
the teams are blind drawn from that point, with an A, B,
C, & D player on each team. Any event where handicaps
are not used in the scoring (Scrambles for example), the
teams are drawn on a high/low basis. High/Low procedure
is when drawing a team the best available A player is
teamed with the lowest available B player, then the best
available C player and finely the lowest available D
player.
Any event indicated as a
"pick your own team" event will have certain team makeup
rules. Examples of these rules could include a Maximum
total team handicap and/or a maximum number of players
on a team of a certain handicap or better. These rules
would be posted on the signup sheet at the clubhouse.
Types of Events
Scramble - Every player takes a turn hitting
their shot, the team decides which shot is the best and
everyone plays their next shot from that point. This
continues until the ball is holed.
Schramble - Each player hits their
own shot from the teeing area. The team decides which
shot is the best. Then everyone plays their own ball
from that point on until they hole their ball. Each
player receives their full handicap.
International - Points are awarded
for score instead of strokes.
Everyone receives their full handicap
Bogey equals 0 points
Par receives 1 point
Birdie receives 2 points
Eagle receives 4 points
Double Eagle receives 6 points
Calcutta - Stroke play with full
handicap
The 2 best scores on each hole are counted for the team
score. |
